Quantum University Organizes Four-Day Workshop on National Drip Irrigation Mission 2026

06 May 2026

The Quantum School of Agricultural Studies, Quantum University, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhanouri, successfully organized a four-day workshop on the theme “National Drip Irrigation Mission 2026” from 5 May 2026 to 8 May 2026. The workshop was conducted for B.Sc. Agriculture Second Year students with the objective of enhancing their practical and technical knowledge regarding modern irrigation technologies, sustainable farming practices, and agricultural mechanization.

The workshop featured an expert session by Dr. Umesh Saxena, who shared valuable insights into modern irrigation practices, efficient water management techniques, and the growing importance of farm mechanization in sustainable agriculture. Through interactive discussions and practical learning sessions, students gained a deeper understanding of precision farming and resource-efficient agricultural technologies being adopted in the modern agricultural sector.

A major highlight of the workshop was the hands-on training provided to students on the installation, operation, and maintenance of drip and micro-irrigation systems. Important topics such as fertigation techniques, irrigation scheduling, water-use efficiency, and sustainable water conservation practices were discussed in detail. The practical approach of the workshop enabled students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world agricultural applications.

Practical demonstrations were also conducted to familiarize students with the functioning and operation of various agricultural machinery and farm implements. Participants received practical exposure to equipment including Multi Crop Thresher, Power Sprayer System, Tillage Implements, Rotavator Working System, and Drip and Micro-Irrigation Setup. In addition, students were informed about various government schemes and initiatives under the National Drip Irrigation Mission 2026 and their significance in promoting sustainable agricultural development.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students throughout the four-day program and proved to be highly informative and beneficial. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and field applications while encouraging students to adopt innovative, sustainable, and technology-driven agricultural practices in the future. The Quantum School of Agricultural Studies expressed gratitude to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhanouri, and the expert resource persons for their valuable contribution towards making the workshop insightful and impactful.
