About NEP SAARTHI

NEP SAARTHI is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, designed to involve students in implementing the transformative reforms proposed under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. SAARTHI stands for Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India, highlighting the role of students as key drivers of change in higher education.

This initiative promotes leadership, active participation, and student-led advocacy in realizing the NEP’s vision of holistic, multidisciplinary, and flexible learning.

Vision and Objectives

Vision: To develop a student-led ecosystem for spreading awareness, understanding, and effective implementation of NEP 2020 across higher education institutions.

Objectives

  • Foster student leadership in NEP 2020 awareness and outreach.
  • Promote academic and policy literacy among the student community.
  • Encourage active collaboration between students, faculty, and administration.
  • Align institutional practices with NEP's multidisciplinary and skill-based approaches.
  • Inspire peer-to-peer engagement and constructive feedback mechanisms.

Role of a NEP SAARTHI

A NEP SAARTHI:

  • Serves as a bridge between institutional leadership and the student body.
  • Organizes seminars, campaigns, and dialogues on NEP reforms.
  • Advocates for flexible, inclusive, and student-centric learning.
  • Shares feedback on NEP implementation from a student perspective.
  • Leads and supports institutional efforts in NEP-aligned curriculum redesign.
