The Department of Business Administration, Quantum School of Business, Quantum University, Roorkee, successfully organized a Five-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Teaching Innovation to Case Study: From Classroom Idea to Patent" from 6–10 July 2026 under the flagship of the Genesis Entrepreneurship & Incubation Centre (Genesis) and sponsored by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). The programme brought together academicians and faculty members from various higher educational institutions to explore innovative teaching methodologies, case-based pedagogy, research integration, intellectual property, and commercialization of innovations.
The FDP featured expert-led sessions on learner-centric teaching practices aligned with Outcome-Based Education (OBE), case writing, Design Thinking, Gamification, Artificial Intelligence in education, and research-oriented teaching. Through interactive lectures, practical demonstrations, group discussions, and hands-on workshops, participants learned how to transform classroom challenges into structured teaching cases while integrating technology and innovation into modern teaching-learning practices.
A major focus of the programme was strengthening research and innovation culture in higher education. Participants gained valuable insights into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patentability, patent filing procedures, technology transfer, startup incubation, and commercialization of innovative ideas. The sessions encouraged educators to convert classroom innovations into impactful research outcomes, patents, and entrepreneurial ventures capable of creating academic as well as societal value.
The programme also promoted interdisciplinary collaboration, industry-academia partnerships, and experiential learning. Faculty members actively participated in collaborative activities designed to enhance analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and student engagement through innovative pedagogical approaches. The interactive format of the FDP provided participants with practical strategies that can be readily implemented in classrooms across diverse disciplines.
The Faculty Development Program concluded with a valedictory session, certificate distribution, and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of five days of intensive academic engagement. The initiative reaffirmed Quantum University's commitment to academic excellence, continuous faculty development, research-driven education, and innovation-led learning, while empowering educators to prepare future-ready graduates through creative, industry-relevant, and socially impactful teaching practices.
