Quantum University Law Students Visit Parliament of India for Experiential Learning

11 May 2026

The Department of Law at Quantum University organized an educational visit to the Parliament of India, offering students a valuable opportunity to witness the functioning of the nation’s highest legislative institution.

The educational excursion aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the practical understanding of constitutional and legislative procedures. During the visit, students explored the architectural magnificence and operational framework of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, gaining firsthand exposure to the democratic processes that shape the nation.

An expert guide accompanied the students throughout the visit and provided detailed insights into the history and evolution of the Indian Parliament, from the colonial era to the newly inaugurated Parliament building. Students learned about the distinctive themes of the two houses, including the lotus-inspired design of the Rajya Sabha and the peacock motif representing the Lok Sabha, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage within a modern legislative setting.

The session also focused extensively on parliamentary functioning and governance. Students were briefed on the process of introducing bills, conducting parliamentary debates, and the responsibilities of key constitutional authorities such as the Speaker and the Chairman. The guide further explained the rules of procedure, voting systems, seating arrangements, and the code of conduct expected from Members of Parliament during sessions.

The visit proved to be a highly enriching academic experience for the students, enabling them to better understand the practical realities of law-making, governance, and parliamentary discipline. The visit concluded successfully, leaving students inspired and motivated toward careers in litigation, policy-making, and public administration.

Speaking on the occasion, faculty coordinators emphasized that such experiential learning initiatives are essential for aspiring legal professionals, as they encourage students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world governance systems.
