Quantum University, Roorkee, proudly hosted the Orientation Bootcamp of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2025, one of the world’s largest international hackathons dedicated to space science, technology, and innovation. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 school students and 10 teachers from Roorkee and Rishikesh, along with the presence of dignitaries, academic leaders, and industry experts.

The bootcamp began with a warm welcome to the participants, followed by insightful sessions introducing the NASA Space Apps Challenge—its objectives, global impact, and the opportunities it creates for young innovators. Students were introduced to real-world NASA problem statements, enabling them to apply scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and creativity to address pressing global and space-related challenges.
Key Highlights of the Bootcamp
- Skill-Building Workshops: Students gained hands-on learning experiences in teamwork, problem-solving, mind mapping, and innovation methodologies, equipping them with skills essential for hackathons and real-world projects.
- Exposure to NASA Problem Statements: Participants explored problem areas such as climate change, planetary exploration, Earth observation, and space technology, preparing them for the upcoming challenge stages.

- Prof. Dr. Vivek Kumar (Vice Chancellor, Quantum University) addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of nurturing scientific curiosity and innovation-driven learning at the school and university level.
- Arijit Hajra, CEO of Think Again Lab and widely known as the “Robot Man of India”, captivated the audience as the Guest Speaker, motivating students to pursue bold ideas and creative problem-solving in the field of science and technology.
- Soumyadeep Pramanik (Founder, ZEROMONK) inspired students with his vision of empowering youth through technology and innovation.

Collaborations that Powered the Bootcamp
The event was conducted with ZEROMONK as the North Zonal Outreach Partner and Think Again Lab as the India Lead of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2025. Their collaboration ensured that students received structured mentorship and exposure to the global innovation ecosystem.

The atmosphere throughout the boot camp was filled with energy and curiosity.
