About the Play

The play, “Dharamyodha Swami Vivekanand,” written by Mr. Shashi Bhushan and Mr. Manish Tiwari, and directed by Mr. Abhi Dhiman, portrayed the transformational journey of Swami Vivekananda — from a young, inquisitive Narendranath Dutta to a global spiritual icon who took India’s profound message of peace and brotherhood to the world stage.

The narrative was woven around pivotal moments of Swami Vivekananda’s life — his early quest for truth, his meeting with Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, his inner struggles to understand Dharma, his self-realization, and his historic 1893 speech at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, which introduced India’s spiritual heritage to the global audience.

The performance was enriched with powerful dialogues, emotive acting, and soul-stirring background music, bringing alive the essence of Swamiji’s philosophy — strength, self-belief, and service to humanity.
