The Department of Law at Quantum University, Roorkee, hosted the Jurisprudence 2025 All India Moot Court Competition from 14 to 16 November. The three day event focused on the theme Personality Rightsin the Digital Era. This subject has become central to legal discussions as technology continues to shape identity, privacy and public life. This year’s edition drew strong interest and saw participation from 32 teams representing leading law universities from across India.
The competition brought together institutions such as Symbiosis Law School Nagpur, Symbiosis Law School Pune, Rashtriya Raksha University Gandhinagar, Raffles University Neemrana, Amity University Jaipur, Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Dharmashastra National Law University, Army Institute of Law Mohali, IMS Unison University Dehradun, and MAIMS Delhi, among many others. Their presence added diversity, depth and a healthy sense of competition throughout the event.

The rounds were judged by an experienced panel that included Mr. Vaibhav Gaggar, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court, Mr. Samaksh Goyal, Advocate, New Delhi, and Mrs. Manisha Pandey, Advocate, Supreme Court of India. Their insights, questions and detailed feedback elevated the contest and gave students a close look at the expectations of real courtroom practice.
The moot proposition dealt with the growing concerns around personality rights. Participants examined issues such as privacy, image protection, misuse of digital identity, data security and the constant tension between individual rights and technological intrusion. Teams presented well researched memorials and argued their cases through multiple rounds that included preliminaries, quarter finals, semi finals and the final round. Judges appreciated the clarity, structure and analytical reasoning that many teams displayed while breaking down complex digital rights concerns.

The competition concluded with a strong and engaging final round. Team Code 03 from IMS Dehradun was declared the Winner for their clear arguments, confident submissions and balanced understanding of personality rights. Team Code 27 from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi, secured the Runner Up position for their solid reasoning and effective courtroom presentation.
Objectives of Jurisprudence 2025

The competition aimed to deepen students’ understanding of personality rights in the age of digital technology. It encouraged participants to study challenges related to online privacy, data protection, misuse of personal images and identity violations. Along with this, the event was designed to sharpen research, drafting and oral advocacy skills while promoting ethical practice, courtroom discipline and analytical thinking. It also served as a national platform for collaboration among universities, helping young law students engage with modern legal problems in a practical and meaningful way.
Outcomes of the Competition

Jurisprudence 2025 concluded on a successful note with significant academic and professional outcomes. Students demonstrated strong research ability, structured argumentation and confidence while handling live questions from the bench. Their performance showed a strong grasp of emerging issues connected to privacy and digital identity. The event also strengthened the culture of mooting at Quantum University and highlighted the importance of national level competitions in shaping future legal professionals.
The Department of Law expressed gratitude to all participating institutions and to the distinguished judges whose guidance enriched the experience for every participant. The event stood out as an engaging and enriching platform that helped students prepare for an evolving legal landscape shaped by technology.
