Innovation doesn’t sleep—and neither did the young tech enthusiasts who gathered at Shyam Ji Auditorium on the 25th and 26th of April 2025. In a powerful fusion of creativity and code, the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications, in collaboration with HackIndia, hosted a one-of-a-kind 36-hour Inter-University Hackathon that brought together bright minds from 11 leading universities across India.
This was more than just a coding challenge—it was a movement of minds, an ecosystem of collaboration, and a glimpse into the future of problem-solving through technology.
A Grand Kickoff: Ideas Set in Motion
The event began with a formal Inaugural Session at 10:00 AM on April 25, filled with energy, anticipation, and promise. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Directors of QST, QSB, IQAC, the Chief Proctor, and respected faculty members from the host departments gathered to light the ceremonial lamp and welcome participants.
“It wasn’t just an inauguration—it was a call to innovate, to solve, and to lead.”
Keynote speeches offered inspiring insights into the power of technology in solving real-world challenges, setting an ambitious tone for what lay ahead.
Into the Storm: 36 Hours of Innovation Without Limits
And then, the hacking began.
From the moment the countdown started, the auditorium transformed into a powerhouse of coding. Teams of students huddled around their laptops, wires trailing across tables, whiteboards filling with scribbles and flowcharts, and ideas sparking at every corner.
“Sleep took a backseat. Innovation took the wheel.”
Over the next 36 non-stop hours, students brainstormed, coded, built prototypes, and debugged tirelessly. Fuelled by adrenaline, caffeine, and a relentless drive to solve real problems, they tackled themes like:
- Smart healthcare and telemedicine
- AI-based disaster prediction systems
- Sustainable agriculture solutions
- Cybersecurity frameworks
- Tech for social good
Every project was more than a concept—it was a purpose-driven solution designed to create impact.
Collaboration at Its Core
One of the most powerful aspects of the Hackathon was the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Students from different universities and diverse academic backgrounds came together not just to compete—but to share, learn, and grow together.
“This hackathon wasn’t about competition—it was about collective creativity.”
Mentors and faculty members provided guidance throughout the event, helping teams fine-tune their projects and encouraging them to push their limits.
The Final Pitch: Showcasing Brilliance
As the clock wound down on the 36-hour mark, exhausted but proud teams prepared to pitch their projects. A panel of experts analyzed each solution based on innovation, usability, technical depth, and potential impact.
“What mattered most wasn’t just the code—it was the story behind it.”
From intuitive apps to AI-based platforms, the judges were impressed by the technical acumen and social awareness reflected in every pitch. It was evident that these students weren’t just coding—they were creating change.
The Winning Moment: Results & Recognition
As the final verdicts were announced on 26th April, the auditorium erupted in applause. Winning teams were recognized for their originality, teamwork, and execution. But even those who didn’t place walked away with far more—a new level of confidence, exposure, and experience.
“Everyone here was a winner—because everyone here dared to build.”
The event concluded with a closing ceremony filled with gratitude, pride, and renewed motivation for the tech leaders of tomorrow.
Highlights That Stole the Show
- Midnight coding marathons
- Spontaneous strategy sessions
- Smiles behind tired eyes
- Whiteboards full of dreams
- Celebration hugs during final results
“Behind every innovation was a sleepless night—and a dream worth chasing.”
Beyond the Event: What We Achieved
This Inter-University Hackathon left a lasting impression on everyone involved. Here’s what it truly achieved:
- Bridged gaps between academic knowledge and real-world application
- Fostered innovation that addressed societal and technological challenges
- Built confidence among students to solve complex problems
- Created a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and skill development
The Road Ahead
The success of this Hackathon is not the end—it’s a beginning. A spark has been lit in hundreds of young minds to continue their journey in tech, not just as coders, but as innovators, changemakers, and future entrepreneurs.
If this event taught us anything, it’s this:
“Code is just the beginning. What you build with it defines the future.”
Stay tuned for more initiatives like this as we continue to nurture and celebrate student innovation.
