Quantum University, Roorkee, proudly hosted the International Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (ICIKS–2025) — a two-day academic event that brought together eminent scholars, researchers, and students from across India. The conference aimed to explore how India’s ancient wisdom continues to inspire modern innovation, sustainability, and intellectual growth in the 21st century.

Inaugural Session

Date: 31st October 2025 | Venue: Shyamji Auditorium

The inaugural ceremony of ICIKS–2025 began with Saraswati Vandana, Lamp Lighting, and Swasti Mantra, creating a spiritually uplifting ambiance. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Vivek Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Quantum University, who emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting India’s intellectual heritage through research and innovation.

Prof. Manish Srivastava, Director, Quantum School of Business, outlined the objectives of the conference, stressing the importance of blending traditional knowledge with contemporary education systems.

The event was graced by distinguished guests:

  • Chief Guest:Swami Brahmdev, Founder of Aurovalley Ashram, Rishikesh
     
  • Guests of Honour:Padma Shri Nalini & Kamalini Asthana (renowned Kathak exponents), and Prof. Dinesh Chandra Shastri (Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Sanskrit University)
     
  • Special Guest:Acharya Pratishtha, noted Yoga and Spiritual Guru

The dignitaries shared profound insights on the role of spirituality, art, and education in shaping a balanced and sustainable world. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Nirmesh Sharma, followed by a networking lunch, fostering meaningful academic interactions among participants.

Technical Sessions – Day 1 (31st October 2025)

Track 1: Scientific Heritage

Venue: Genesis Hall | Chair: Dr. Noopur Jaiswal

This session explored India’s remarkable scientific legacy across mathematics, linguistics, physics, and education. Key presentations highlighted the contributions of ancient scholars and their relevance to modern science:

  • Dr. Mridula & Team – “From Panini to Python: Computational Linguistics and Sanskrit Grammar”
     
  • Dr. Dhriti Tiwari – “From STEM to STREAM: Integrating Aesthetics in Modern Education”
     

The session concluded with the consensus that India’s scientific thought continues to inspire innovations in AI, education, and sustainable living.

Track 2: Ayurveda, Health & Wellness

Venue: Seminar Hall | Session Lead: Dr. Shalini Verma

Inaugural Session

Presenters explored the integration of Ayurveda, psychology, and nutrition into modern health practices. Highlights included research on Ayurvedic pain management (Dr. Mohit Sandhu), yoga for holistic wellness (Dr. Ayush Mittal), and nutritional interventions for lifestyle diseases (Mani Narwal). The session reaffirmed that Ayurveda’s holistic approach aligns deeply with the principles of sustainable healthcare.

Track 3: Architectural Wisdom

Venue: Design Studio | Chair: Dr. Raj Kumar

Inaugural Session

This track delved into Vastu Shastra, temple geometry, and sustainable spatial design. Speakers emphasized that ancient Indian architecture demonstrated scientific precision and ecological balance. Discussions proposed integrating AI and digital heritage tools to reinterpret traditional designs in modern architecture education.

Track 4: Vedic Governance and Ethics

Venue: Harmony Hall | Chair: Dr. Ankur Sharma

Inaugural Session

Focusing on ancient Indian frameworks of Dharma and Nyaya, this track examined their relevance to modern management and governance. Scholars presented papers on ethical leadership, inclusion, and constitutional morality inspired by epics like the Ramayana and Arthashastra. The session highlighted how moral wisdom from Indian texts can shape compassionate and ethical leadership in contemporary organizations.

Technical Sessions – Day 2 (1st November 2025)

The second day continued with further exploration of Indian Knowledge Systems in science, sustainability, and education.

  • Dr. Asheesh Malik – “Integrating Traditional Agricultural Knowledge for Sustainable Farming”

Student presentations on topics such as “From Zero to Infinity” and “Kautilya’s Arthashastra: A Review through the Lens of Economics” showcased young researchers’ engagement with ancient wisdom as a tool for future innovation.

The discussions concluded that Indian Knowledge Systems offer a transformative model for global sustainability, interdisciplinary education, and inclusive growth.

Valedictory Session

Date: 1st November 2025 | Venue: Shyamji Auditorium

The valedictory ceremony marked the dignified conclusion of ICIKS–2025.

The session included a comprehensive Conference Summary by Dr. Mridula Singh, and participant feedback praising the event’s interdisciplinary and intellectually enriching nature. In his valedictory address, Dr. Tripathi emphasized the need to continue bridging traditional knowledge with modern innovation. The ceremony ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Mousami Goel, the recitation of Shanti Path, and a group photograph symbolizing unity and shared learning.

Conclusion

The International Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (ICIKS–2025) was a resounding success, drawing over 100 participants from diverse academic backgrounds. The event served as a vibrant platform for dialogue on how ancient Indian philosophies can guide modern sustainability, education, and ethical governance.
