Dr. Ira Rana has authored two research papers and three book chapters. She has also presented various papers at national and international conferences. During the course of her research, she had the opportunity to closely observe the functioning of the justice system. She interacted with the agents of the justice system and individuals who come into contact with it. Additionally, she observed the workings of the social welfare system dedicated to the welfare of children. She also interned with the Chief Probation Officer in Delhi and interacted with members of Child Welfare Committees, Juvenile Justice Boards, observation homes, and child-care institutions, which helped her understand the ground realities faced by children involved with these agencies.
