Microbiology & Immunology Lab

Microbiology & Immunology Lab

The Microbiology & Immunology Lab provides students with hands-on training in studying microorganisms and understanding the immune response. Students learn techniques for the isolation, culture, and identification of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, as well as conducting antimicrobial sensitivity tests. The lab emphasizes sterile techniques, proper handling of cultures, and safe disposal of biohazard materials. In addition, students gain practical experience in immunological assays such as ELISA, antibody-antigen detection, and other diagnostic procedures. This practical exposure prepares students for careers in clinical diagnostics, research, and infection control in healthcare settings.

Tools & Equipment Used: Autoclave, incubators, laminar flow hood, microscopes, centrifuge, ELISA kits, culture media, petri dishes, inoculation loops, Bunsen burners, and other microbiological glassware.
