Housekeeping Lab

Housekeeping Lab

The Housekeeping Lab replicates the back-of-the-house operations of a hotel, allowing students to practice cleaning, maintenance, and aesthetic management of guest rooms and public areas. It is equipped with a model guest room, housekeeping trolley, linen and laundry room, cleaning agents, vacuum cleaners, and flower arrangement materials.
Purpose:
To train students in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, comfort, and ambience of hotel facilities, and to develop professional housekeeping skills.
Activities / Training Includes:
Bed-making techniques and room preparation.
Cleaning of floors, bathrooms, and public areas with proper chemicals.
Operation of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaner, floor polisher, etc.).
Handling and storage of linen in the linen room.
Laundry operations – stain removal, washing, ironing, and finishing.
Flower arrangement, indoor plants, and decoration.
Lost and found procedures.
Supervision and inspection checklists for rooms and areas.
