Operating System Lab

Operating System Lab

The Operating Systems Lab provides students with hands-on experience in understanding the concepts and functionalities of modern operating systems. Students are introduced to key OS principles, including process management, memory management, file systems, and input/output management. Through practical exercises, they learn to work with system calls, implement basic shell commands, and manage virtual memory. The lab allows students to explore various operating system concepts in both simulated and real environments, working with different OS platforms such as Linux and Windows. By conducting experiments on process scheduling, file system creation, and inter-process communication, students gain a deeper understanding of how operating systems manage resources and ensure the smooth operation of computing systems.

Software/Tools Used: Linux, Ubuntu, Windows, VirtualBox, VMware, Shell Scripting, GCC Compiler.
