Horticulture and Plant Breeding Lab

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture's global research network advances fruit and vegetable innovations, empowering smallholder farmers to increase their income while improving nutrition in their communities. Also known as the Horticulture Innovation Lab, the program’s research projects cover the entire fruit and vegetable value chain, from seed systems to postharvest practices and marketing. The primary goal of the program’s research efforts worldwide is to enhance livelihoods through higher profits and diversified, nutrient-rich diets. Its work is guided by principles of gender equity, improved information access, the promotion of innovative technologies, and strengthened research capacity.
