The Quantum School of Law (QSL), Quantum University, Roorkee, successfully organized a seminar titled “Green Job Round-Up Seminar: Exploring Sustainable Career Pathways” on 25th February 2026 at Harmony Hall, F-Block. The seminar was conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM under the coordination of Dr. Akhilesh Yadav. The event saw active participation from around 120 law students, who attended to gain insights into emerging career opportunities inenvironmental sustainability and green law.

The seminar aimed to introduce students to the growing concept of green jobs and highlight the importance of legal professionals in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development. As environmental concerns and climate-related issues continue to gain global attention, the demand for professionals with expertise in sustainability and environmental governance is increasing rapidly. The seminar provided an academic platform for students to explore these evolving opportunities and understand the role of law in supporting environmental protection.
The invited resource persons for the seminar were Mr. Avadesh Pundir and Ms. Oceanika Bhatt, Project Managers at Waste Warriors Society (Team YUWA). Through their informative presentations and engaging discussions, the speakers introduced students to the concept of green jobs and explained their growing relevance in today’s environmentally conscious world. They emphasized that environmental sustainability is no longer limited to scientific or technical domains but also requires strong legal frameworks, regulatory policies, and governance mechanisms.

During the session, the speakers discussed how legal professionals contribute to areas such as environmental compliance, environmental impact assessment (EIA), climate change policy development, waste management regulations, renewable energy governance, and sustainable urban planning. They explained that lawyers play a vital role in drafting environmental policies, advising organizations on sustainability practices, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
The speakers also highlighted various career opportunities available for law graduates in the field of environmental sustainability. These include roles in environmental litigation, policy advocacy, corporate environmental responsibility, environmental auditing, compliance consultancy, and advisory positions in NGOs and international organizations working on climate action and environmental justice. Through real-life examples and practical experiences, the resource persons demonstrated how legal professionals can actively contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.

One of the key objectives of the seminar was to bridge the gap between traditional legal education and the evolving global challenges related to sustainability and environmental governance. The organizers aimed to create awareness among students about the expanding scope of environmental law and the increasing importance of sustainable practices in policy and governance. By exposing students to practical insights from professionals working in the sustainability sector, the seminar helped them understand how theoretical legal knowledge can be applied in real-world environmental initiatives.
The seminar also encouraged students to think beyond conventional legal career paths and explore specialized fields such as green law, climate policy advisory, environmental compliance, and sustainability governance. Students were motivated to consider internships, research opportunities, and higher studies in environmental law and sustainability-related fields.

The interactive nature of the session further enriched the learning experience. Students actively participated in discussions, raised questions, and shared their perspectives on environmental issues and policy solutions. The interaction with the resource persons helped students gain clarity about career prospects and the practical aspects of working in sustainability-oriented roles.
The outcomes of the seminar were highly encouraging. Students gained a broader understanding of green jobs and the role of legal professionals in addressing environmental challenges. The session also helped them recognize that environmental law extends beyond courtroom litigation and includes policy development, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and international environmental negotiations.
Participants developed greater awareness about the growing demand for legal expertise in sectors such as renewable energy, climate policy, waste management, and sustainable business practices. The insights shared during the seminar inspired students to explore specialized training, certifications, and skill development programs related to environmental governance and sustainability.

Overall, the “Green Job Round-Up Seminar: Exploring Sustainable Career Pathways” proved to be an informative and inspiring initiative. The seminar successfully highlighted the importance of integrating environmental responsibility with legal practice and encouraged students to pursue careers that contribute to sustainable development.
