Devkumar Kannojia, a second-year B.Com student at Quantum University, Roorkee, secured first position in the Boys’ Category at the WRPF Uttarakhand Open Powerlifting Championship 2026, held on September 27 and 28, 2026. The achievement brought recognition to the university and highlighted the student’s dedication to sporting excellence.

Organised by WRPF Uttarakhand, the championship witnessed the participation of approximately 150 attendees from various universities, colleges and cities. The event provided a platform for participants to showcase their strength, determination and commitment to powerlifting while promoting a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.

Devkumar’s achievement reflected the importance of discipline, consistent effort and perseverance in competitive sports. The championship also highlighted the growing interest in powerlifting among students and provided emerging athletes with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.
