Quantum University Secures Two Patents, Marks a Major Milestone

27 July 2026

In a remarkable demonstration of innovation and creativity, Quantum University has been granted two pioneering patents, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to research and development. The patents, which include a unique foldable fitness mat design and an advanced topical formulation, underline the institution's dedication to pushing boundaries in science and technology.

The first of these patents, the Foldable Fitness Mat, has been successfully registered with Intellectual Property India. This innovative design, the brainchild of Mr. Mukesh Kumar and Dr. M. Kannan from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, offers a versatile solution for fitness enthusiasts. The mat stands out due to its unique foldable structure, which allows users to engage in a variety of exercises. When folded, the mat can be used for step-ups, triceps dips, incline exercises, and more, accommodating multiple workout routines. Moreover, it boasts a thickness that is double that of average yoga mats, providing additional support and comfort for users.

In addition to this, Quantum University has also secured a patent for the LULICONAZOLE MICROSPONGE TOPICAL FORMULATION, a groundbreaking invention developed by Dr. Himanshu Chaurasia from the School of Health Science. This formulation harnesses the power of luliconazole, combined with polymers, emulsifiers, and organic solvents, all encapsulated in a specialized gel base. This new topical gel allows for controlled release, minimizing side effects commonly associated with topical medications.

The successful registration of these patents not only reaffirms Quantum University's reputation for excellence in research but also demonstrates the institution’s commitment to real-world applications of academic knowledge. The patents serve as a testament to the hard work and innovative spirit of its faculty and researchers.

With these additions, Quantum University has now secured a total of 88 granted patents, including 38 utility patents and 50 design patents. This remarkable milestone underscores the University's growing reputation as a center for innovation, intellectual property creation, and industry-relevant research. As Quantum University continues to foster a culture of discovery and excellence, it remains committed to empowering researchers and students to develop transformative solutions for the future.
