The Department of Law at Quantum University Roorkee, under the aegis of QSL, successfully organized a workshop on Client Counselling Competition titled “The Art of Client Counselling” at Harmony Hall, F-Block. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 law students. The event aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of client interaction, legal communication, and professional ethics in legal practice.
The workshop was graced by Ms. Neetu Singh, Senior Advocate, High Court Nainital and Former Additional Judge, Family Court, Roorkee, as the distinguished guest speaker. Her presence encouraged students to actively engage in experiential learning and skill development activities beyond the classroom.
Focusing on the practical aspects of legal counselling, the workshop revolved around family dispute cases and highlighted the importance of effective communication between legal professionals and clients. Drawing from her extensive professional experience, Ms. Neetu Singh emphasized the significance of active listening, empathy, confidentiality, ethical conduct, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving skills while handling sensitive legal matters. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, students gained valuable insights into the role of client counselling in dispute resolution and the administration of justice.
The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to understand the responsibilities of legal professionals beyond courtroom advocacy. Students learned how to conduct effective client interviews, identify both legal and emotional concerns, and offer appropriate legal guidance in a structured and professional manner. The session also enhanced students’ analytical thinking, interpersonal communication, confidence, and advocacy-related soft skills, which are essential for a successful legal career.
The event proved to be highly informative and beneficial, successfully bridging the gap between theoretical legal education and real-world legal practice. By fostering practical competence and ethical awareness, the workshop reinforced Quantum University’s commitment to experiential learning and professional development, preparing students to become responsible and client-oriented legal professionals.
