The Department of Commerce and Finance at Quantum University Roorkee, under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized a workshop on “Raising Capital and Financial Management for Startups” on 08 May 2026 at Harmony Hall, Quantum University. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of startup financing, financial planning, and entrepreneurial decision-making.

The session was conducted by esteemed resource person CA Harshit Gupta, who shared practical insights and real-world experiences related to startup funding and financial management. Students of the Department of Commerce and Finance actively participated in discussions and interactive activities throughout the session.

During the workshop, the speaker elaborated on various funding avenues for startups including bootstrapping, angel investment, venture capital funding, crowdfunding, and institutional financing. The session also highlighted the importance of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and maintaining financial discipline for the sustainability and growth of entrepreneurial ventures. Practical examples and case-based discussions helped students understand financial challenges faced by startups and strategies to overcome them.

The workshop successfully bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and practical financial realities of the startup ecosystem. Students also gained awareness regarding legal and regulatory aspects associated with startup financing and investment management.
