The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Quantum University, Roorkee, organized a research-oriented academic session titled “Research Methodology for Early-Career Researchers” at Unity Hall, B-Block. The session was aimed at strengthening research awareness and developing a systematic understanding of research methodology among students and early-career researchers.
The session was conducted by Dr. Brij Mohan Singh, Director, QST, Quantum University, and Dr. Amrita Kumari, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The programme introduced participants to the fundamentals of the research process and highlighted the importance of adopting a structured approach while planning, conducting, documenting, and presenting quality research.
Key areas covered during the session included research problem identification and formulation, research planning, literature review techniques, identification of research gaps, selection of appropriate research methods and tools, research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. The discussion also addressed academic writing, citation practices, plagiarism prevention, research ethics, and responsible conduct of research.
The session was designed to help participants improve their ability to formulate research questions and objectives, conduct effective literature reviews, understand research design and data analysis, and communicate findings through academic and technical writing. The research-oriented approach provided participants with foundational knowledge applicable to their academic and future professional research work.
The session successfully strengthened participants’ awareness of the research process while building confidence in planning and communicating research work. It also reinforced the importance of ethical and responsible academic practices, supporting the development of stronger research capabilities among students and early-career researchers at Quantum University.
