24 May 2026

The Department of Law, Quantum University, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Haridwar, successfully organized a Legal Aid Camp at the premises of DLSA, Haridwar. The awareness initiative was conducted ahead of World No Tobacco Day with the objective of educating students and the public about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and promoting a healthy, tobacco-free society. The event was coordinated by Mr. Nishant Kumar and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, advocates, social workers, and members of the public.

The program was graced by the presence of Ms. Simarnjeet Kaur, Civil Judge Senior Division and Secretary, DLSA Haridwar, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the legal, social, and health-related consequences associated with tobacco use. During her insightful session, she emphasized the importance of youth participation in social awareness campaigns and encouraged students to actively contribute towards public welfare initiatives. She also informed participants about various government initiatives, legal provisions, and preventive measures related to tobacco control in India.

One of the major attractions of the camp was the impactful Nukkad Natak presented by the students of Quantum University. Through their energetic and thought-provoking street play, the students effectively portrayed the adverse effects of tobacco addiction on individuals, families, and society. The performance successfully engaged the audience and delivered a strong social message regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and avoiding tobacco consumption.

The legal aid camp also served as a valuable practical learning platform for law students. Through direct interaction with legal professionals, social workers, and members of the community, students gained practical exposure to legal awareness activities and community outreach programs. The event helped students enhance their communication, leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills while strengthening their understanding of social responsibility and legal service.

The program concluded on a successful note with appreciation for the active participation of all attendees and contributors. The initiative reflected Quantum University’s commitment towards promoting legal awareness, social responsibility, and community engagement among students. The Legal Aid Camp proved to be highly informative, interactive, and socially meaningful, inspiring students to continue participating in awareness campaigns and welfare activities for the betterment of society.
