The Department of Allied Health Sciences at Quantum University Roorkee organized a guest lecture on “Radiation Safety” on 13 May 2026 at Harmony Hall, F Block, for students of BMRIT (all years) and BPT 2nd year. The session was conducted by Mr. Shubham Deoli under the guidance of Mr. Harshit Sehrawat with the objective of enhancing students’ awareness regarding radiation safety practices and professional responsibilities in healthcare environments.
During the lecture, the speaker discussed the fundamental principles of radiation safety, radiation hazards, methods of radiation protection, and the safe handling of radiological equipment used in clinical and diagnostic procedures. Important concepts such as ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), personal protective equipment, and radiation monitoring devices were explained in a detailed and interactive manner.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and clarified their doubts regarding radiation exposure, preventive measures, and safety protocols. The lecture helped participants understand the significance of maintaining proper safety standards while working in radiological and healthcare settings.
The interactive nature of the session enabled students to gain practical insights into radiation protection techniques and ethical professional practices required in medical imaging and diagnostic environments. The lecture also enhanced students’ understanding of the importance of patient safety, healthcare responsibility, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines in professional practice.
Overall, the guest lecture proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the participants. The event significantly contributed toward strengthening students’ academic knowledge, practical understanding, and awareness regarding safe radiological practices and healthcare standards.
