Quantum University Organizes Free Fire Tournament under IGNITE 2026

As part of IGNITE 2026, the Technical Fest of Quantum University, Roorkee, the university organized an exciting Free Fire Tournament to provide students with a structured competitive gaming experience. The event was organized by Velocity – Quantum University Gaming & Game Development Club, in collaboration with Codex Club, with the aim of promoting teamwork, strategic thinking, communication, and sportsmanship through esports.

The tournament featured enthusiastic participation from students across different academic backgrounds. To ensure smooth management, registered teams were divided into four groups—A, B, C, and D. The competition was conducted in multiple stages, beginning with group matches for Groups A and B, followed by Groups C and D, after which the qualifying teams advanced to the final stage.

Throughout the matches, participants demonstrated team coordination, tactical planning, quick decision-making, communication, adaptability, and competitive spirit. Before the matches, participants were briefed about the tournament rules, match format, timings, and guidelines. The organizing team coordinated continuously with participants and team leaders to ensure the smooth execution of the tournament.

The final stage brought together the qualifying teams for an exciting concluding round. Team Godzilla, Team Egoistic, and Team void born emerged as the top-performing teams in the tournament. Their performances reflected the competitive spirit and teamwork encouraged throughout the event.

The Free Fire Tournament provided students with an opportunity to participate in organized esports while also developing skills such as strategic thinking, collaboration, leadership, time management, problem-solving, and sportsmanship. For the organizing team, the event also offered practical experience in participant management, scheduling, technical coordination, and event execution.

The successful completion of the tournament strengthened Quantum University's growing platform for gaming, esports, and game development activities. As a part of IGNITE 2026, the event encouraged students to explore gaming as an engaging field involving technology, strategy, creativity, teamwork, and communication, while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive campus experience.
