The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and the Department of Computer Applications (CA), Quantum University, successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Advanced Data Structures & Algorithms and Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) from 21st July to 25th July 2026 in collaboration with GeeksforGeeks. The program aimed to strengthen the technical expertise of faculty members by enhancing their understanding of advanced programming concepts, efficient algorithm design, and industry-oriented software development practices.
Throughout the five-day program, participants engaged in expert-led sessions, live coding demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and interactive discussions covering a wide range of topics, including advanced arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, heaps, graphs, searching and sorting techniques, recursion, backtracking, dynamic programming, graph traversal, time and space complexity analysis, and core principles of Object-Oriented Programming such as encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, exception handling, and modular programming. The sessions also emphasized coding best practices and modern problem-solving approaches widely adopted in the software industry.
The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members of both the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications. The collaborative learning environment encouraged active discussions and practical implementation, enabling participants to deepen their conceptual understanding while gaining valuable hands-on experience in advanced programming and algorithmic thinking. The program also focused on bridging the gap between academic curriculum and evolving industry expectations.
By the end of the FDP, participants were better equipped to design optimized algorithms, implement robust software solutions using Object-Oriented Programming principles, and integrate industry-relevant programming methodologies into classroom teaching. The knowledge gained through the program will further enable faculty members to mentor students more effectively for coding competitions, internships, technical interviews, and placement opportunities.
