The Department of Commerce and Finance, Quantum University, Roorkee, successfully organized a Financial Empowerment Programme on “Banking Awareness, Consumer Protection and Smart Investment” at Harmony Hall. The programme was conducted as part of financial awareness and consumer protection initiatives under the Reserve Bank of India Ombudsman Scheme, in collaboration with HDFC Bank Ltd.
The programme aimed to equip students with essential knowledge of banking services, consumer rights, digital financial safety, credit management, responsible borrowing, and informed investment practices. The initiative provided students with practical insights into financial matters that are increasingly important in both personal and professional life.
The event brought together officials from the Reserve Bank of India and representatives from HDFC Bank, creating an opportunity for students to interact with professionals and gain practical perspectives on financial services and consumer protection.
The awareness sessions sensitized students to important areas such as formal and digital banking, cyber safety, consumer protection, credit management, responsible borrowing, and smart investment practices. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of early saving, the Time Value of Money, understanding the risk–return relationship, and ensuring safe digital financial transactions.
The programme reaffirmed Quantum University’s commitment to promoting financial literacy, consumer awareness, and responsible financial behaviour among young learners. By providing students with practical financial knowledge and awareness, the initiative encouraged them to become more informed, responsible, and future-ready citizens.
