The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Quantum University, organized an awareness and learning event on “Industrial Safety, Fire Prevention & Risk Assessment” to develop safety awareness among students and familiarize them with essential practices followed in industrial environments. The event witnessed active participation from more than 28 students.

The session focused on identifying workplace hazards, understanding industrial safety procedures, preventing fire-related incidents, and assessing risks before they lead to accidents. Students were introduced to common causes of industrial fires, basic fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and the importance of using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

A key focus of the session was risk assessment, with students learning about identifying hazards, evaluating their potential consequences, and implementing suitable control measures. The discussion also highlighted the importance of preparedness and adherence to safety procedures in workshops, laboratories, and industrial environments.

Through interactive discussions and practical examples, participants gained a better understanding of safe working practices and emergency preparedness. The session encouraged students to develop a responsible safety culture and recognize the importance of proactively addressing workplace risks.
