Quantum University Organizes Awareness Session on ABC and APAAR ID under NEP 2020

13 May 2026

The NAD Cell of Quantum University successfully organized an informative awareness session on ABC/APAAR ID for students with the objective of familiarizing them with the importance, benefits, and implementation process of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The session aimed to promote awareness regarding digital academic identity, credit accumulation, and seamless academic mobility within the evolving national education framework.

The session was conducted by Dr. M. Kannan from the NAD Cell, who explained the concept and significance of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), a digital platform that enables students to securely store, transfer, and redeem academic credits earned from recognized institutions. Students were also introduced to APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry), a unique lifelong academic identification system designed to maintain academic records in a centralized and secure digital format. The speaker highlighted how these initiatives support multidisciplinary learning, academic flexibility, multiple entry-exit options, and lifelong learning opportunities envisioned under NEP 2020.

A detailed hands-on demonstration was conducted to guide students through the process of creating ABC and APAAR IDs using DigiLocker and official student portals. The session provided step-by-step guidance on registration procedures, Aadhaar linking, verification processes, and accessing academic records digitally. Faculty Coordinator Mr. Monti Saini actively assisted students in resolving queries related to account creation, portal accessibility, and document verification.

The awareness session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. Interactive discussions were held to address queries related to credit transfer, institutional recognition, the use of ABC IDs during admissions and examinations, and the long-term academic benefits of maintaining a digital academic identity. Students appreciated the initiative for enhancing their understanding of the digital academic ecosystem being implemented across higher education institutions in India.

The program proved to be highly beneficial in promoting digital academic awareness among students and encouraging their active participation in the modernized education framework. The university continues to organize such informative initiatives to ensure students remain updated with national educational reforms and digital academic advancements.
