Dhan Setu Finance Club, Department of Business Administration, Quantum School of Business, Quantum University, organised a one-day awareness and learning workshop titled “Tax Smart: Understanding Income Tax & E-Filing” for MBA students. The workshop aimed to develop practical awareness of income tax, Income Tax Returns (ITR), tax compliance and the online e-filing process, connecting academic concepts with real-world financial responsibilities.

The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of income tax and the importance of maintaining accurate financial information and proper documentation. The resource person explained the major sources of income, including salary, house property, business or profession, capital gains and other sources, along with the purpose and significance of filing an Income Tax Return.

A key component of the session was an overview of the online income-tax e-filing process. Students were introduced to the broad steps involved, including accessing the e-filing portal, selecting the applicable return, entering relevant details, submitting the return and completing the verification process. The discussion also highlighted the importance of maintaining financial records and meeting applicable tax requirements and deadlines.

The workshop featured a practical, lab-based learning environment in which students could strengthen their understanding of tax-related procedures. The interactive session helped participants connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications and develop greater awareness of financial compliance and their responsibilities as informed citizens.
