Quantum University Hosts Organic Fair 2026 to Promote Sustainable Agriculture and Healthy Living

23 October 2026

As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, Quantum University in Roorkee stepped up to the challenge by hosting the Organic Fair 2026, an initiative designed to promote organic culture and sustainable living practices. Under the theme “Organic Today, Healthy Tomorrow, Sustainable Forever, " this event was part of the larger Abhivyakti 2026 celebrations, focusing on environmental awareness and healthier consumption habits.

The two-day fair brought together a diverse group of participants, including students, faculty members, farmers, entrepreneurs, and government officials, all uniting on a common platform dedicated to exploring the benefits and possibilities of organic agriculture. With a total of 18 exhibition stalls, the fair presented a wealth of organic agricultural produce, traditional food products, value-added items, and handicrafts, shining a spotlight on local resources and traditional knowledge.

Two notable stalls were operated by government departments, namely the National Horticulture Board from Dehradun and the Department of Sericulture from the Government of Uttarakhand. Their presence added both institutional credibility and technical insight to the proceedings, fostering valuable interactions and increasing awareness about horticulture and sericulture initiatives in the region.

The wide array of products exhibited during the fair included traditional delicacies like organic black rice kheer, singhara chaat, fruit chaat, and lethi chokha. Additionally, attendees could find organic jaggery, seeds, fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, and various handicrafts. This impressive display underscored the critical connection between agriculture, traditional food practices, health, and sustainability, illustrating how these elements intertwine to promote a healthier lifestyle.

One of the standout features of the Organic Fair 2026 was its emphasis on student learning and entrepreneurship. Students took an active role in preparing, presenting, and displaying their products, which provided them with invaluable hands-on experience in product presentation, communication, teamwork, customer interaction, and essential marketing skills. The fair inspired them to explore various opportunities in product development, food innovation, value addition, and small-scale enterprises, reinforcing the university's commitment to experiential learning.

Moreover, the event facilitated meaningful interactions between various stakeholders, including students, farmers, entrepreneurs, government representatives, and visitors. This engagement not only allowed participants to explore the diverse products on offer but also encouraged the exchange of innovative ideas and inspirations.

The Organic Fair 2026 served as a powerful reminder of the importance of responsible consumption and sustainable agricultural practices. This initiative highlighted Quantum University's dedication to not only educate its students but also to engage the greater community in discussions around sustainability and health. By making organic culture more accessible, the fair reinforced the relevance of preserving traditional food practices and local resources, effectively drawing a connection between agricultural knowledge and practical enterprise.

Quantum University’s Organic Fair may have concluded, but its impact is sure to resonate throughout Roorkee and beyond, inspiring a continued commitment to sustainability, health, and responsible living in the years to come.
