Quantum University Hosts Hostel Hackathon 2026 to Foster Innovation Among First-Year Students

Quantum University, Roorkee, successfully organized the Hostel Hackathon 2026 exclusively for first-year students of the B.Tech and BCA programmes. The event provided students with a practical platform to transform creative ideas into technology-driven solutions for everyday challenges.

The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 200 students, who came together to demonstrate their creativity, technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative thinking. The central theme of the event was “Build a website that can make learning, teaching, or student life easier, smarter, or more engaging.” Students were encouraged to identify real-life challenges related to education and campus life and develop website-based solutions to address them.

The event also introduced students to the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supportive tool in the development process. Participants were permitted to use AI tools to assist in building and enhancing their projects, giving them an opportunity to explore modern technology while developing practical skills in web development, ideation, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Through the hands-on nature of the hackathon, students gained valuable experience in transforming ideas into working projects. The collaborative environment encouraged them to experiment, think creatively, identify practical problems, and design solutions that could make student life more efficient, engaging, and technology-driven.

The Hostel Hackathon 2026 successfully strengthened the culture of innovation and experiential learning at Quantum University. By encouraging first-year students to combine technology, creativity, and AI to address real-world challenges, the initiative provided an inspiring foundation for their future participation in technical projects, competitions, and innovation-driven activities.
