Quantum University Conducts Financial Outreach Programme at Bhaisrao Village to Promote Financial Literacy

21 September 2026

The Department of Commerce and Finance, Quantum University, successfully organised a Financial Outreach Programme at Bhaisrao Village, Chhutmalpur, on September 21, 2026, in collaboration with Bandhan Bank, Chhutmalpur Branch. Conducted under the Financial Literacy Ambassador Programme – “Learn, Educate, Empower”, the initiative aimed to promote financial literacy, responsible banking practices and awareness of safe digital financial services among members of the local community.

The outreach programme provided students with an opportunity to engage directly with villagers and disseminate practical knowledge related to banking, digital financial services and financial fraud prevention. The students created awareness about basic banking facilities, digital banking, UPI, mobile banking, ATM usage, internet banking and other digital payment mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on safe digital transactions and precautions to prevent common financial and cyber frauds.

The collaboration with Bandhan Bank, Chhutmalpur Branch brought practical banking expertise to the initiative and helped connect students’ academic learning with real-world banking practices. Through direct interaction with community members and banking representatives, students gained exposure to the financial needs, queries and challenges faced by people at the grassroots level.

As part of the programme, students also took on the role of Financial Literacy Ambassadors, explaining important financial concepts in simple and accessible terms, addressing basic queries and encouraging secure and informed use of digital financial services. The activity contributed to strengthening their communication skills, teamwork, confidence, community engagement and practical understanding of financial inclusion.

The programme resulted in improved awareness among villagers regarding banking facilities, digital payment mechanisms, safe financial practices and fraud prevention. For the participating students, the initiative provided meaningful experiential learning and an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real community setting. The outreach thus contributed towards bridging the gap between financial knowledge and community-level financial awareness, particularly in the context of digital financial services.
