Students from the Department of Civil Engineering, Quantum University, participated in a One-Day Hands-on Workshop on "SAP2000, ETABS & CSIBridge – Applications in Structural Engineering" held on 1 August 2026 at the O.P. Jain Auditorium, IIT Roorkee. The workshop was organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in association with the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Uttarakhand Chapter.
The workshop provided students with practical exposure to industry-leading structural analysis and design software, including SAP2000, ETABS, and CSIBridge. Through expert-led sessions and live demonstrations, participants gained insights into structural analysis, multistorey building modelling, railway truss bridge modelling, and the application of advanced engineering software widely used in the civil engineering industry.
Students also explored concepts related to the analysis of determinate and indeterminate structures, verification of analytical results, and modern structural design methodologies. The interactive sessions helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical engineering applications while enhancing participants' understanding of contemporary industry practices.
The workshop served as a valuable learning experience, enabling students to strengthen their technical skills, improve their software proficiency, and gain exposure to professional engineering tools that are essential for structural design and infrastructure development. It also encouraged interaction with experts and fellow engineering students, fostering collaborative learning and knowledge exchange.
Quantum University remains committed to providing its students with experiential learning opportunities through collaborations with premier institutions and industry bodies. Such initiatives play a significant role in preparing future civil engineers with the practical knowledge, technical competence, and industry readiness required to excel in the evolving infrastructure and construction sectors.
