The NSS Unit of Quantum University, Roorkee, in collaboration with the Gardening Club of the School of Agricultural Studies, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The event was organized to promote environmental awareness and encourage collective action towards a sustainable future.
The programme commenced with an awareness march from the Administrative Building to the Agricultural Research Field. Students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the march, carrying placards and raising slogans to spread awareness about environmental conservation, climate action, and sustainable living practices.
A plantation drive was subsequently conducted at the Agricultural Research Field, where Neem saplings were planted by NSS volunteers, faculty members, and university officials. The initiative aimed to enhance campus greenery, contribute to ecological balance, and reinforce the importance of afforestation in addressing environmental challenges.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the university community, who collectively pledged to protect the environment and support green initiatives. The celebration successfully reinforced the message of environmental stewardship and highlighted the importance of working together to build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
