The Department of Commerce and Finance organized an industrial visit to Alex Aluminium Composite Panels, Selaqui, Dehradun, for B.Com 2nd-year students. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to industrial functioning and a deeper understanding of real-world accounting and taxation processes. A total of 50 students participated, guided by faculty members Dr. Vinay Pal Singh and Dr. Pallavi Bhardwaj.

Overview of the Plant Visit
Students were taken on a detailed tour of the manufacturing unit, where they observed the complete production cycle of aluminium composite panels. Company representatives explained each stage of the process, including:
- Raw material processing
- Surface coating and lamination
- Panel cutting and shaping
- Quality testing and inspection procedures

This first-hand exposure helped students understand how theoretical concepts from their curriculum apply to day-to-day industrial production.
Interactive Session with Accounts and Finance Team
Following the plant tour, students attended an interactive session with the Accounts and Finance Department of Alex Panels. The company’s finance professionals briefed them on:
- Preparation and maintenance of financial records
- GST rules and compliance
- Taxation procedures followed by the company
- Accounting software and tools used for financial management

The session offered practical insight into accounting, auditing, and taxation, allowing students to see how these processes operate within a real organization.
Outcome
The visit proved to be an enriching learning experience. Students gained clarity on industrial operations, financial workflows, and compliance procedures.
