Expert Talk on Vastu Considerations in Structural Planning and Space Utilization Organized at Quantum University

17 April 2026

The Department of Civil Engineering, Quantum University, in association with the Quantum Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), organized an expert talk on “Vastu Considerations in Structural Planning and Space Utilization” on 17 April 2026 at Shyamji Auditorium. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members and aimed to promote the integration of traditional Indian knowledge systems with modern civil engineering practices.

The keynote speaker, Acharya Sumit Rawal, a renowned Vastu Expert, Astro-Numerologist, and Coach from Haridwar, shared his extensive knowledge and professional experience in the field of Vastu Shastra. With over two decades of practice and consultancy on thousands of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, he highlighted the relevance of traditional principles in contemporary construction and design.

During the session, Acharya Rawal explained the fundamental principles of Vastu Shastra, including the role of the five elements (Panchabhutas) in structural planning. He discussed the importance of directional alignment, energy balance, site selection, room placement, and structural orientation in creating harmonious and sustainable built environments. The speaker also emphasized how proper utilization of space can enhance functionality, efficiency, and overall well-being.

A key highlight of the talk was the presentation of real-life case studies demonstrating the successful implementation of Vastu principles through non-demolition remedies. He showcased practical solutions for residential and commercial spaces and explained the use of modern tools such as Aura Scanners and L-Rods for energy assessment and analysis. The session provided valuable insights into combining traditional wisdom with scientific understanding for improved structural planning.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion, where students engaged with the speaker and clarified their queries on Vastu applications in engineering and architecture. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the guest speaker and participants for making the event a success. The initiative reflected Quantum University’s commitment to fostering holistic learning by integrating traditional Indian knowledge systems with modern engineering education.
