AI & Innovation Sprint Hackathon Organized at Quantum University

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Quantum University, Roorkee successfully organized a hackathon titled “AI & Innovation Sprint – Rapid Prototyping for Digital Transformation” on 28 February 2026. The event aimed to encourage problem-driven innovation, AI-based solution development, and startup-oriented thinking among students and faculty members.

The program began with team nomination and registration, inviting interdisciplinary participation from various academic departments across the university. This collaborative approach allowed participants from diverse fields to come together and work on innovative ideas addressing real-world challenges.

As part of the preparatory activities, a skilling workshop was conducted on 25 February 2026 at the B.Tech Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Dr. B. M. Singh, Director, Quantum School of Technology (QST). During the workshop, participants were introduced to innovation strategies, startup thinking, and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in driving digital transformation across industries.

The Innovation Sprint Day I, held on 26 February 2026, focused on skill development and an expert session on Technology Readiness Level (TRL). The session helped participants understand how innovative ideas evolve into viable products and scalable technological solutions.

The Innovation Sprint Day II – Hackathon, conducted on 28 February 2026 at the Central Library, began with a welcome address by the Director, QST. During the hackathon, participating teams actively worked on developing and refining their AI-driven prototypes, applying the knowledge and skills gained during the preparatory sessions.

The prototypes and innovative solutions were carefully evaluated by the jury members, who assessed the projects based on creativity, feasibility, technological application, and potential real-world impact. The event concluded with project reviews and the announcement of the winning teams.

Overall, the hackathon served as a vibrant platform for innovation, rapid prototyping, and entrepreneurial thinking. It enabled participants to transform their ideas into potential digital solutions while gaining valuable exposure to AI tools, startup ecosystems, and practical approaches to solving real-world problems.
