As part of Abhivyakti 2026, Quantum University, Roorkee, organised the Indian Cuisine – Lost Recipes competition, celebrating India's diverse culinary traditions and highlighting the importance of preserving traditional food heritage.
The competition provided students with an opportunity to explore traditional recipes and the cultural stories associated with them. Participants showcased their understanding of regional food traditions, highlighting how culinary practices reflect the customs, history and cultural identities of different communities across India.
The Lost Recipes segment encouraged students to look beyond contemporary culinary trends and rediscover traditional preparations that hold cultural significance. It also highlighted the value of passing culinary knowledge from one generation to another and keeping regional food traditions alive.
The activity added a meaningful cultural dimension to Abhivyakti 2026, bringing together food, tradition and creativity. It reinforced the idea that cuisine is more than just food; it is an important expression of India's cultural identity and heritage.
