Mr. Ashish Kumar Kestwal is a seasoned hospitality professional and academician with over 23 years of combined experience in the hospitality industry and academia. He completed his B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from IHM Bhubaneswar, affiliated with NCHMCT, New Delhi. He further strengthened his academic credentials with a Master of Tourism Management (MTM) from IGNOU, New Delhi, and also holds MHM and MBA degrees from Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Subharti University. Mr. Kestwal has gained extensive industry exposure through his association with globally reputed hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Jaypee Hotels, and Aman Resorts. His professional journey includes active involvement in the pre-opening operations of five-star hotels, which has enhanced his operational and managerial expertise. In academia, he has served as an Assistant Professor at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and has also contributed to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), including the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), one of the leading hospitality institutes in the Asia-Pacific region.

Research & Patents

Mr. Kestwal has made notable research contributions through publications in reputed journals, including Scopus-indexed journals, reflecting his active engagement in hospitality research and academic development. He successfully completed the PMMMNMTT Induction Training Programme conducted by MHRD, Government of India, securing an ‘A’ Grade. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Indian Hospitality Congress and has qualified IELTS (Academic) conducted by the British Council and the University of Cambridge. A dedicated mentor and educator, he has consistently guided and counselled BHM students in understanding industry dynamics, specialization areas, and professional growth opportunities. His expertise in hotel operations, curriculum development, student mentoring, and industry-academia integration highlights his strong commitment to hospitality education and academic leadership.
