Dr. Rakesh Kumar

Designation : Assistant Professor

Dr. Rakesh Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Entomology from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. His areas of expertise include apiculture, sericulture, pollinators, integrated pest management (IPM), IPM for mango hoppers, and pest forecasting. He qualified for the ICAR-ASRB NET in 2014.

Experience :

He qualified for the ICAR UG AIEEA exam and was awarded the National Talent Scholarship (NTS). He was selected for postgraduate studies through the ICAR (PG) AIEEA with a Junior Research Fellowship. He has published six research papers and nine popular articles on sericulture, apiculture, IPM for mango hoppers, and pollinators. He has attended more than 15 national and international conferences on entomology. He is the co-author of two book chapters. He was awarded the Young Researcher Award in Entomology during the 7th Plant Science Researcher Meet-2024 at Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand, organized by Plantica-APSR.
