Dr. Mridula

Designation : Professor

Dr. Mridula earned her B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Roorkee and completed her Ph.D. there in 2016. Her expertise encompasses pattern recognition techniques, machine learning, and deep learning. In her academic career, she has amassed over 14 years of teaching experience. During her Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee, she also worked for 5 years as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF). She has published more than 40 papers in national and international journals, presented over 15 papers at various conferences, and is the author of three books. Additionally, she has secured several research grants from the Uttarakhand Science Education & Research Centre (USERC) and the TEQIP-III Scheme of the Government of Uttarakhand, and she has published nine patents, one of which has been granted. She is actively involved in accreditation-related activities.

Research & Patents

In her research endeavors, she has been appointed as Editor-in-Charge for a Special Issue of the International Journal of Spatio-Temporal Data Science (IJSTDS) by Inderscience, USA, and serves as a reviewer for The Engineering Journal of Application and Scope. She has also been designated as a reviewer for a diploma-level book by AICTE. She has chaired sessions at various national and international conferences and recently had the honor of delivering the keynote lecture at the International Conference on Cognitive Computing in Engineering, Communications, Sciences, and Biomedical Health Informatics (IC3ECSBHI-2025), held on 16th January 2025 at Gautam Buddha University. She has been invited as a guest speaker at several prestigious events and institutions, including workshops, seminars, and conferences, where she has shared her insights on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and waste management. Notable engagements include addressing participants at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and delivering a lecture on Plastic Waste Management at CIPET, Aurangabad.

She was honored with the Award of Excellence 2022 for her outstanding contributions to education by the International Research and Development Centre for Publication (IRDCP), Jaipur, India, in March 2022. Additionally, she received the Teacher of the Year Award 2021, conferred by the Divya Himgiri Association and presented by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, on 5th September 2021.
