Students of Quantum University Went For An Educational Trip to CBRI Roorkee

The department of CE, Quantum University, Roorkee, organized an educational tour to CSIR-CBRI ROORKEE to give an insight into working procedures in the industry. On 2nd December, students of B.Tech 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year were accompanied by 2 faculty members and left for the destination where they were graciously welcomed by scientist Dr. Ashish Pippal.

The visit started with the lecture which was given by Dr. Ashish Pippal who spoke about working with CBRI on various Projects and also showed some live projects. The students were taken to the Fire Engineering Lab, where they learned about equipment and experiments, to check the fire safety of the structure. Students also visit Non – Destructive Testing Lab and got to know its testing of RC structures, investigation of distressed structures, and suggesting remedial measures, Damage surveys, repair, strengthening, and retrofitting measures for earthquake-affected buildings. They also visited the Composite Material Lab & Geotechnical Lab to study the characteristics of different types of paver blocks.

A lot of new technologies were discussed during the visit, which was a valuable learning experience for the students.
