Department of Mechanical Engineering, Quantum University in collaboration with QU Innovation Council & Zeromonk successfully hosted an Online Webinar on “Future of Core Engineering” for the students.
The expert Mr. HemSingh Patle, who has more than 16 years of experience in the field of product design and development for organizations such as Mahindra and Mahindra, Hero Motocorp, etc, commenced the session with an introduction to core engineering. He explained how technology is changing in the 21st century and impacting engineering education. He said,” We need to think that this inclination is somewhat creating a vacuum for the core engineering fields, because of which these fields are facing a shortage of great talents.” He also displayed how AI can be used for predictive maintenance and industrial quality inspection.
Students learned how Ai-powered robots work in various fields like walking robots, manhole cleaning robots, and AI with prosthetics. The session ended with a Question-Answer round followed by a few tips & advice shared by the guest speaker to help students with futuristic projects.
