Department of BSC Agriculture organized a Workshop on ‘Processing of Fruits & Vegetables

A Workshop on Processing of Fruits and Vegetables was conducted by the department of BSc Agriculture of Quantum University under the supervisor and organizer of the program Mr. Naveen Chandra and Mr. Anjil Panwar. The workshop was held for the 3rd year students of BSc Agriculture who participated in the program in numbers. 

The workshop witnessed a strength of 102 students in the School of Hospitality & Tourism. The students learned the process of fruit Jam preparation and the chemical and physical parameters that need to be followed in jam preparation. They got to know the effects of the parameters in Jam quality such as TSS, pH, acidity, the thickness of peel, quality of fruit. Students of Agriculture were informed about the right kind of sugar required to prepare the jam and the use of pectin. 

The workshop was indeed an exhibiting one and full of knowledge. Providing technical guidance regarding food processing was taught to the students and the Department of Agriculture is actively helping the Food Industry in carrying out need-based specialized work related to product development of food and agricultural products.
