On an educational trip, students of B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics, B.Sc Physics (Hons) and B.Sc (Hons) Chemistry visited instrumentation center, IIT Roorkee. Institute Instrumentation Centre (IIC) houses a large number of sophisticated instruments used for high magnification imaging, material characterization, precision chemical analysis, etc.
On visiting the place, students saw equipment placed in suitable chambers with fine software- machinery interface. The field trip to Institute Instrument Center (IIC) in IIT Roorkee, helped students in learning about various ultra-modern microscopic equipment such as AFM Probes, XPS, VSM, EMPA, TEM, XRD, ICPMS, FLS, AAS and NMR. Post-lunch students met Dr Vipin Chawla, Technical Officer, IIT Roorkee. He shared his wealth of knowledge with students and answered all their queries. At last, students interacted with faculty members of IIT Roorkee and gained tonnes of knowledge from them. The trip was highly informative for both students and faculty members.
