QConclave at Quantum University Spotlights Women Empowerment: Paving the Way for a Progressive Academic Community

Quantum University in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), delightedly announced the successful conclusion of QConclave, a prestigious two-day event that took place from 29th to 30th July 2023 on the University campus. QConclave aimed to spotlight the significance of “Women’s Empowerment in Research and General Administration within the University System”. Under the esteemed leadership of renowned experts and visionaries, QConclave brought together distinguished speakers from diverse domains, including academia, research, and administration.

The esteemed Chief Guest for QConclave was Dr. Leena Gahane, an eminent Professor at ACET, Nagpur, and former Deputy Adviser at NAAC. Dr. Gahane’s invaluable insights into education and gender issues enriched the dialogue during the event. Among the prominent speakers who graced the occasion were: Dr. Ashu Rani, Vice-Chancellor of Agra University, who shared her vast experience in leadership and academic administration, Dr. RC Dubey, Professor at the Department of Botany and Microbiology and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Dr. Abha Khetarpal, Retired Officiating Principal and Assistant Professor at the Department of Home Sciences, DAV College for Girls, Dr. Chaya Sharma, Head of the Department of Chemistry at IIT Roorkee, Dr. Amit Dixit, Registrar of Quantum University, & Dr. Manish Sharma, Dean of IQAC at Quantum University, who highlighted the university’s efforts in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Emphasizing the crucial role of women in shaping society, Dr. Leena Gahane spoke about the meaning of the word ‘Stree’, and the combination of three gunas i.e sat raj and tam, and quoted examples of Marathwada, Vidharbha women. She stated, “Empowering women in academia and research is not only about equality but also essential for progress. By unlocking women’s potential, we unlock the potential of our society.” Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Ashu Rani, Vice-Chancellor of Agra University, expressed, “When women are empowered, the entire educational landscape undergoes a positive transformation.” Dr. Abha Khetrapal, Retired Principal and Associate Professor DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar talked about the need for women empowerment and women rights in India. She briefed that Women Empowerment is a crucial aspect of achieving gender equality and promoting inclusive development in any society.

QConclave served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices, with a focus on driving positive change in academia and beyond. The esteemed speakers shed light on the challenges faced by women professionals and proposed effective strategies to promote gender equality and inclusivity within the educational landscape.
