Quantum University Organizes Guest Lecture on “Production Techniques in Fruit & Plantation Crops”

The School of Agricultural Studies is organizing the guest lecture entitled “Production techniques in fruit and plantation crops” on 14-05-2022 from 11:00 am onwards. 

Dr. Devi Singh is the keynote speaker for the lecture who is the Former, Principal, of the College of Agriculture, CCSHAU, Hisar. He has teaching experience of more than 30 years and published more than 60 National and International research papers, 4 books, and more than 15 radio talks. He is awarded a fellowship by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Organization (UNO) in 1998 and worked as FAO Fellow at Washington State University, Pullman, USA. 

Fruit growing is one of the important and age-old practices, practiced in India since ancient times. Cultivation of fruit crops plays an vital role in the overall status of mankind and the nation. The standard of living of the people in a country depends upon the production and per capita consumption of fruits.  

As far as scope is concerned, the production of fruits increased to a large extent. India is an ideal country as all the important fruits can be produced due to varied soils and climatic conditions. So to avoid a glut in the market, they can be processed, preserved, and enjoyed in the off-season.
