Quantum School of Agricultural Studies conducted “Kisan Goshti” on Farmer’s Day

On the occasion of Kisan Diwas (23rd December 2021), Quantum School of Agricultural Studies in collaboration with Sankalp Uthan Ka conducted a Kisan Goshti. The guest were Farmers of Badkala Village who thoroughly enjoyed the program and expressed their views on the trends in agriculture.

Also known as Farmers Gosthi, the students and faculty members celebrated the Birth anniversary of our 5th Prime Minister and farmer leader Choudhary Charan Singh. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Vivek Kumar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Major General Sanjay Sharma, Director’s Prof. Gulshan Chauhan, Prof Brijesh Kumar Yadav, and Registrar Dr, Manish were present during the event. Around 200 students of the Agriculture Department attended the program which was organized in the Mini Audi of Quantum University.

They threw light upon the latest development of Agricultural Technology and how Agricultural Graduates can help farmers to access these technologies. The welcome address was given by Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, HOD, QSAS who explained how the farmers’ can benefit from different Agricultural technologies and the role of students in transferring the latest technologies to farmer’s fields so that farmers income increases per unit cultivated area. 

In the technical session, Dr. Anjay Bisht, Dr. Aditya Lama, Mr. Naveen Chandra Bahuguna, and Mr. Pradeep Kumar Verma presented the topic of natural farming, different agricultural apps for farmers, nursery preparation and insect pest and diseases of cole crops and their management, respectively. Eventually, Dr. Avinash Verma, Assistant Professor, QSAS concluded the program by delivering the vote of thanks to the guests and the audience.
