What a Finish? to Mark the End of National Nutrition Month

The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, School of Health Sciences, Quantum University, organized another series of events to complete the end of National Nutrition Month in style.

On 23rd September, the department organized a Cooking Competition. The theme of the competition was “Healthy Packed Lunch for School Going Children.” The judges were Dr. Vivek Kumar – Vice Chancellor, Dr. Gulshan Chauhan – Director QST, Dr. Rakesh Premi Director QSB, and others.

Sharanjeet Kaur – B.Sc. N&D 3rd yr and Anshika Sachan – B.Sc. N&D 3rd yr was the winner and runner-up respectively. The third position was jointly shared by Dilnashi – B.Sc. N&D 2nd yr and Rajendra Bisht – B.Sc. Agri. 3rd yr.

On the 25th, the department conducted a Pamphlet Making Competition on the theme “EAT SMART FROM THE START.” The judges were Dr. Praveen Kumar – HOD Health Sciences and others of the University.

Prasansha Rai – B.Sc. N&D 3rd yr and Ruchika Gupta – M.Sc. N&D 2nd yr was the winner and runner-up respectively. The third position was jointly shared by Kumari Bhavana – M.Sc. N&D 2nd yr and Sakshi Saini – B.Sc. N&D 3rd yr.

In India, September is celebrated as National Nutrition Month. The theme for this year is – “Feeding Smart, Right from Start.” The month is dedicated to nutrition and a healthy diet to encourage people to develop healthy habits to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.
