Due to special emphasis on research, Quantum University files three more patents.

In a very short span of time, Quantum University, Roorkee, has emerged as an innovation hub in the region. Students and faculty members of the university have been continuously contributing to the field of research. They have recently filed three more patents in the field of Health Sciences and Medicines. Dr Praveen Kumar and Dr Darshika Nigam played a significant role in filing these patents. The number of patents filed reflects the emphasis laid on research in the university. It is already rubbing shoulders with North India’s top universities in various parameters of research and innovation. 

It is worth mentioning here, that university has already filed 31 plus patents and with these three, the count has increased to 34 plus. It is a very remarkable achievement by any Indian university in its initial years. The university has been focusing its Research and Development Unit towards building socially inclined projects. It is converging its research focus to some really trending topics such as pharmaceuticals, computer sciences, IoT, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biosciences, nutrition and dietetics, just to name a few. 

All three patents would be very soon given to the industry for commercial usage. They are soon going to be turned out into products and made available for public usage. It is expected that the soon going to be launched products are going to be highly beneficial for society. 

While giving the details of the patents filed, Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr Vivek Kumar said, “the recent three patents have been filed by the Quantum School of Health Science”. He further said that the university is in process of filing many more patents in the coming months and has earmarked an annual budget of Rs 1 crore for the promotion of Research and Innovation amongst the students. This budget is assigned to the Core Research Groups for the development of futuristic products and technologies. 

The University has established several industry-sponsored R&D Labs and Innovation Centers by top-notch companies such as Quick Heal, Palo Alto, APS GmbH, Xebia, R Systems, Ashok Leyland and others, where students are given hands-on practical exposure on new-age technologies under the guidance of experts from the industry. In addition to this, the university has also established several Centres-of-Excellence where experts from the industry are directly working with students on real-time projects to develop futuristic products, technologies and services that can help society and mankind.

Quantum University has invested a big amount in the past two years to build high-quality research capabilities and world-class labs to facilitate research. Top Academicians, Researchers, Industrialists and Business-Persons are now eyeing on the university and expecting it to put a great show in the field of research and innovation in the coming future.
