Quantum School of Technology organised a workshop titled “Workshop on Geoinformatics – Petroleum Engineering”. More than fifty students became a part of this workshop.
The main speaker of the event was Mr Rajiv Chaudhary and Mr Ashwani Sharma, faculty of the Department of Petroleum Engineering. Workshop flagged off with the brief introduction of the topic given by Mr Rajiv Chaudhary. Later on, he explained the technicalities in a very simple yet effective manner. After the initial introduction, uses, applications, benefits, needs and drawbacks of Geoinfomats in petroleum were explained. He covered a wide range of topics including, geoinformation, surface, structure, topography, the composition of the atmosphere. Afterwards, Mr Ashwani Sharma took the responsibility and continued the event and further enhanced the knowledge of the students. He covered topics like GIS, remote sensing, GPS, and applications in petroleum engineering. Overall it was a knowledge enhancing session. Students were very motivated and happy.
